A small bird, migrating south for winter, encountered such freezing cold that it stiffened mid-flight and plummeted into a vast field. As it lay there, immobilized, a cow ambled over and dropped a pile of dung on the bird. Surprisingly, the dung’s warmth began to thaw the bird, making it feel cozy and content. Revived, the bird started chirping happily. A nearby cat, drawn by the sound, approached, uncovered the bird from the dung, and swiftly ate it.
Moral of the story:
(1) Not everyone who burdens you is an adversary.
(2) Not everyone who rescues you from trouble is an ally.
(3) When you’re in a messy situation, it’s wise to stay quiet!
